Let P,Q be (2,0) and (-2,0) and consider a line ax+by=1 and write eqns. for distance (note that they are on same side, so their signed distances(without mod) can be directly added)

According to reaction, 1 mole e- i.e. 1 F charge produces 1 mol of OH-, so 0.8 mmol OH- requires charge = 0.8 milli farad. use Q=It to find time(x=8 sec). For CuSO4, reaction at anode is 2H2O β€” O2 + 4H+ + 4e. No. of moles of O2 at STP = 0.28/22.4 = 0.0125. Acc. to rxn., for 1 mol O2, charge required is 4 F. So for 0.0125 mol O2, charge required will be 0.0125x4=0.05 F. Again use Q=It. t will be 5 sec(y).
So x/y = 8/5 =1.6. hope this is the correct method

Put values cancel terms from num and deno then multiply and divide by xΒ²-1 ans solve it…
