What kind of substitution is followed in this reaction? I’m guessing it’s sn2 since (I-) is a very good nucleophile. If I’m wrong, plz correct it and give me the reason.@Seshank. Also please clarify that when HX attacks secondary alcohols, what kind of substitution take place?

Just rememeber that Sn1 occurs mostly only when you have a polar protic solvent (or if the intermediate carbocation that could be formed is very stable)
