C has more branching bro. What makes you say that B has more branching?

i am seeing wrt where oh is attached never told to may be foolishly but
pls confirm @Seshank

Bro branching means with regard to carbon chains. In c a carbon chain is branched to the main chain.

I myself don’t know this part too well. I’ve to study this again. Don’t remember. @Aastik_Guru @LaveshGupta @JEE2020 Please help him.

1st question I feel something is wrong.

For Q.12 : The physical properties of enantiomers are same for both isomers. So, A,C,D are incorrect. And an equimolar mixture of R and S isomer will form a racemic mixture so their specific rotations will be same in magnitude.

Bro but they have not given Butan-2-ol… They’ve given two separate compounds. One is butanol and the other is butan-2-ol. For option C i.e.

Oops, sorry. I didn’t see that. My bad.

Sorry bro.I have not read this thing till now.So can’t help.Sorry.

For this I think the answer should only be A as B can show only geometrical and not optical.

@Aastik_Guru

Doesn’t R-butanol mean R-butan-2-ol, 1- butanol is optically inactive??

Yes @Cooljet123 There wont be any R/S for butan-1-ol , it has to be R-butan-2-ol
